NamadaFlow Weekly Update
Aug 13–20, 2025
This week’s validator talks covered everything from upgrades and voting power shifts to shielded reward debates, infra funding, and bridging plans. Here’s the pulse of Namada’s ecosystem.
NAMADA Validators’ Discussions
Upgrade to v201.0.2 and Voting Power Rebalancing
A new upgrade to v201.0.2 was coordinated primarily to unblock IBC Eureka functionality. Validators were asked to upgrade asynchronously and post confirmation alongside their voting power. Several validators responded, and discussions followed around VP rebalancing to favor more active participants.
Shielded Rewards, MASP Sell Pressure & SSR Strategy
The team extensively debated whether shielded rewards for NAM were creating sell pressure. The discussion touched on turning off SSR, focusing incentives elsewhere, and ensuring any changes wouldn’t undermine trust or momentum.
Interop, IBC, and Eureka Deployment Plans
Community members explored methods for enabling ETH and USDC bridging via Cosmos Hub, Eureka, and Noble. This involved both inbound (mint on Namada) and outbound (burn from Namada) flows, with CCTP mentioned as an interim solution.
Infra Sustainability, PGF, and Retroactive Funding
Conversations circled around infrastructure funding, mainnet validator support, and concerns about Heliax running more infra internally. The group debated which operators (e.g., indexers, interfaces, relayers) should be prioritized for cPGF funding.
Validator Rewards Claim Process (Clarification & Bash Setup)
Clarifications were offered for claiming validator commissions using only the validator address (without a source address). Shell scripting to export and save $VALIDATOR_ADDRESS to .bash_profile was also shared, with some feedback on best practices.
Housefire Faucet Status and Support Wind-down
The Housefire faucet was confirmed operational again, but broader infrastructure support for Housefire has been discontinued by top contributors. Users were guided to the faucet and reminded of potential CLI timeouts from earlier issues.
